The Philippines’s government approved an emergency standby fund totaling P162 billion (USD 3.3 billion) aimed to provide immediate subsidies and support to workers, cash-for-work programs, prevention and control of other diseases, programs for impacted sectors, and the agricultural sector. Earlier, the Philippines’s government have released a P140 billion (USD 2.85 billion) fund to fight socioeconomic and health problems arising out of the pandemic crisis
